MapR announces OCTO as first Advantage partner in France
London, England - MONTH DAY, 2013 - MapR Technologies, Inc., the Hadoop technology leader, today announced OCTO as its first Advantage partner in France as part of on-going regional expansion to meet growing demand for Big Data related projects.
Founded in 1998, OCTO is an international group with subsidiaries in France, Brazil, Switzerland, Morocco and Belgium. OCTO’s team of 150 expert consultants work across a diverse set of projects including Big Data, mobility, high performance architectures and DevOp helping clients, including Canal+, Orange, Fortis and Danone, design information systems and applications to transform their businesses.

The Big Data Analytics Team at OCTO will use MapR to help clients deploy large scale data processing solutions based on Hadoop, , NoSQL, Storm and next generation machine learning techniques. Cabot highlights banking, insurance, telecom, media and utilities industries as key early adopters of Big Data technologies.
MapR setup European operations earlier this year with Paris-based Xavier Guerin appointed as Vice President for Southern Europe and Benelux. Guerin has over 22 years of industry experience following senior technology executive roles at EMC Isilon, NetApp and Sun Microsystems. “OCTO is a great example of a forward thinking and progressive organisation that is embracing new technology to solve the challenges and unlock the potential of Big Data,” explains Guerin. “Demand for Hadoop is growing in France and across the region and we are now in the process of signing up a community of partners that can help us more quickly capitalise on this opportunity.”
